I sat in the courtyard, on a swing suspended from a tree. I wore a yellow and gray dress and was pushing myself back and forth, my ballet slippered feet skidding as I moved. I had a song stuck in my head and I sang it quietly to myself as I sat.
"But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?"
I smile sweetly in my solitude. I was feeling better, after all. The song was called Pompeii, just like the city some of my ancestors came from. I smile and keep singing, my thoughts changing from one song to another.
"Screen fallin' off the door door hangin' off the hinges my feet are still sore your back's on the fringes we tore up the walls we slept on couches we lifted this house we lifted this house...
Firecrackers in the east my car parked south your hands on my cheeks your shoulder in my mouth we were up against the wall in the west mezzanine we rattled this town, we rattled this scene...

Sun. After all, that's what I am. I'm the lights in the sky, the candles at a funeral, the lights in the hospital ward when a baby is born. I'm the sun that follows everyone through their lives till their death. I'm the one who can't go blind to others' troubles, because I'm supposed to see. The cloouds had left me for a different place; I had my hope and love back and I wasn't sad or ill. Ha. I'm such a daydreamer. I keep smiling and singing to my self as I slowly and gently push myself on the tree swing.

I watched my sister from the castle surrounding the courtyard, my cold eyes upon her. I didn't dislike her though, but my personality was like this, was like ice. With a sigh I began my walk and was soon in the courtyard with her, but remained behind her by several feet.

I hear something behind me and I stop dead in my tracks. I stop singing. "Oh, hey Torren!"

I nod towards her "hello sol"

I smile at my sister "How are you?"

I smile back at her, I could afford a smile for her. "I'm good" it was a lie though.

I laugh melodically and push off the ground with my feet. "That's good." I smile and pump against the air, flying higher and higher. Everything was falling back into place now. Or so I think.

I watch from below and simply keep my eyes on sol, making sure she doesn't do anything rash or stupid.

I look at her. "This feels kind of awkward, with you just watching me..."

I sigh "sorry, I'm not in a well....good mood"
