Re: Edinburgh City
I grabbed some out of my bag and threw it to her "water?" I inquired picking up my bag and looking through it for my water.

Re: Edinburgh City
I was taken aback by the request "um... Yea sure... If I had a spare stone. I need to get a new one"
Re: Edinburgh City
I smiled, feeling a bit better "is there an afterlife?"
(shouldn't be ask why she's asking about death?)

"no reason" I said and stretched "shall we continue walking?"

Re: Edinburgh City
"Sure if you want" questions about death always disturbed me. I knew another young woman who had asked me the same question. But I said nothing. If she had something to say, she'd say it.
Re: Edinburgh City
"it's about a three hour walk" I said and packed my stuff "ready dad?" I asked and smiled

Re: Edinburgh City
"Ready when you are" I replied slinging my pack over my back. I extinguished the fire using water. It was a lot easier than actually controlling the fire. So I condensed the water vapour immediately above it. The fire went out.

I began to lead him north through the woods

Re: Edinburgh City
I followed her, the woods made me uneasy. They weren't like the green Irish woods I knew, they were darker and more foboding. Or maybe they just reflected my mood.

About two hours walking I stopped and paused. We were about to enter his territory

Re: Edinburgh City
"What is it?" I asked looking around. This place gave me the creeps. And with me that was not a good feeling, I get kinda jittery but it's often for a reason that I hate places.

Re: Edinburgh City
I followed her warily, I wasn't a fan of whisps. I'd seen thm once before and followed them, theyd led me to a house...
Re: Edinburgh City
I kept following the wisps then stopped in my tracks as we passed ruins of an old castle and I shuddered

Re: Edinburgh City
We went past an old castle and I had a flashback, I generally only had them as dreams but I still had one. It was from he war, serpines castle, the nameless, vengeous and serpine were there in the throne room. Then he'd entered, the man in the black armour, the man who felt nothing. The necromancer vile. Serpine had used his power on me, the whole point of this was to destroy me. I hadn't let him. He wanted information not quick death, I was the blue cleaver. I mnew everything. I said nothing, he motioned with that red right hand again and I howled in pain. "It seems just pain won't work on you" he said kicking me sharply in the ribs. He'd summoned vile, why? Then I found out. The shadows fell towards me, ripping my clothes and slashing my skin. I screamed in agony. Serpine asked again "what are you're masters planning?" Still I said nothing. Again, another barrage of shadows. I was left their dying and bleeding on the floor. Vengeous came over and kicked me "tell!" He barked. I said nothing. Then serpine had ordered vile to attack again. I was only just consious, soon it'd all be over. Then the nameless. He shot me in the leg, I still have the scar. I turned over howling in pain, but said nothing. Then the order came, from the person I least expected, vile "send him back to his masters, he'll tell us nothing and just become a hero by dying. A blue cleaver who died saving his grand Mage and the soldiers." There was truth in what he said and serpine agreed. I'd thought it was all over by then, but in the end serpine had his last bit of torture for me. He killed my family, yet I have no proof of it. I snapped back to the present.
Re: Edinburgh City
He had been having a flashback, I could tell. But I had a bigger problem. I knew the great bear knew I was in his territory. At best I had two hours before he found us and devoured, or tried to

Re: Edinburgh City
I shook my head and focused on the task at hand. Getting to the magical stones or whatever they were called. I didn't like this place one bit. I wasn't going to return. Ever. This was my view on Scotland at the time: creepy.

Re: Edinburgh City
They towered above me, they must have been hundreds if not thousands of years old "older than me" I said to myself.
